The Rayne Foundation Appoints New
Director
Crispin Truman OBE is to be the new
Director of The Rayne Foundation
CEO of CPRE, the
countryside charity since 2017, Crispin has 25 years' experience of charity
leadership, working across sectors and with all levels of government. He was
previously CEO of the Churches Conservation Trust and of Revolving Doors Agency
before that. He has chaired and been trustee of several organisations,
including UK and European heritage networks, Rethink Mental Illness, the London
Cycling Campaign and was chair of governors at Stoke Newington School and Sixth
Form in London.
Robert Rayne, Chairman
of The Rayne Foundation, said:
‘Crispin brings a
breadth of experience of working with the causes of most importance to Rayne,
as well as the knowledge and expertise needed to lead our Foundation in the
next stage of its development. As Rayne becomes a more strategic, proactive
funder intent on achieving maximum impact through partnership and thoughtful,
developmental leadership, Crispin will bring to our expert team and our
committed trustee body additional skills and experience we need to succeed. I
am delighted that he has accepted our offer and am looking forward to working
with him.’
Crispin Truman adds:
‘I am hugely honoured and delighted to
be offered this opportunity to lead one of the UKs great philanthropic
foundations. I am inspired by the dedication
of The Rayne Foundation to helping the most needy
in our society and by their history of achievement and founding principle of
building bridges to strengthen communities.
I am excited by trustees’ ambition to make the most of their learning
and experience to move forward and to increase focus on where they can make
most difference. I hope that my
determination to work across sectors and to bring people, perspectives and
professions together will chime with the role Rayne wants to play in modern
grantmaking and in achieving even more through partnership with colleagues,
fellow charities and communities.’
Crispin leaves CPRE on Friday 30
September and joins The Rayne Foundation on Monday 17 October 2022.
